At Westfield Nursery we are dedicated to ensure that the ‘right’ person is looking after/caring for your child. We have a responsibility to all our children and their parents to employ suitable childcare practitioners to care for the children. We undertake this by ensuring we have a robust recruitment and vetting procedure.
Westfield Nursery values its staff. It is in the interests of the nursery, The children, their families and the individual that each staff member is given the opportunity to develop their skills to their maximum and to broaden their knowledge and skills in caring for children. Personal and professional development is essential for maintaining the delivery of high quality care and learning for children in their early years. It underpins all aspects of positive interactions and activities planned for children. At Westfield Nursery we ensure that a minimum of 90% of our staff are qualified to level 3 (or equivalent) or above in childcare and education. Other staff working at nursery are qualified to level 2 or undertaking training.
Every child at Westfield Nursery is assigned a “Key Person” to ensure that the individual needs of all our children are met. The Key Person should help the child to become familiar with the provision and to feel confident and safe within it, developing a genuine bond with the child and their parents, offering a settled and close relationship. They should meet the needs of each child in their care and respond sensitively to their feelings, ideas and behaviour.
Let's meet the team!
